Jil Teichmann is a professional women’s tennis player from Switzerland. Lefty was born on 15th July 1997 in Barcelona, Spain, but she does not have a Spanish passport. She is currently living in Biel/Bienne, a Municipality in Switzerland.

Teichmann’s father’s name is Jacques and her mother’s name is Regula. Notably, her parents are from Zurich, Switzerland. Jil Teichmann’s current coach is a former Spanish tennis professional Arantxa Parra Santonja.

Jil Teichmann Junior Career

According to ITF records, Teichmann competed in the junior tennis circuits from February 2011 to July 2015. In that, she won a clay-court title and reached a junior career-high singles ranking of World No.3 on 29th September 2014.  

Jil Teichmann WTA Career

Swiss made her WTA Tour main draw debut at the 2016 Strasbourg Open as a qualifier. She claimed WTA singles titles at the 2019 Prague Open and 2019 Palermo Open. Most recently, Jil reached the semifinal at Mutua Madrid Open 2022.

Most Notably, Teichman reached the first-ever WTA 1000 event championship match at the 2021 Cincinnati Open after overcoming Romanian Sorana Cirstea, American Bernarda Pera, No.2 seed Naomi Osaka, No.10 seed Belinda Bencic, No.5 seed Karolina Pliskova

At the Grand Slam events, she utmostly reached the second round of the US Open.

Exciting Facts About Jil Teichmann

Teichmann is five feet and 6 inches(1.70 metres) tall and her nickname is Jily. In addition, Swiss favourite surface and tournament: Clay and the Australian Open. Her long-term tennis goal is to win a Grand Slam title.

Teichmann speaks different languages like English, and Italian. Her two dogs’ names are Freddy and Baschi. Moreover, she enjoys spending time with friends.
