With Italian Matteo Berrettini and Polish Hubert Hurkacz joining a star-studded lineup, the 12-player entry list of the Diriyah Tennis Cup 2022 has been completed.
Matteo Berrettini and Hubert Hurkacz will join Stefanos Tsitispas, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, Alexander Zverev, Nick Kyrgios, Dominic Thiem, Stan Wawrinka, Taylor Fritz, Cameron Norrie, and Dominic Stricker for the second edition of the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia.
The men’s tennis exhibition event is scheduled from 8-10 December 2022 at the Diriyah Arena near Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. A dozen players will battle for total prize money of $3 million on the outdoor hard courts.
“I´ve never been to Saudi Arabia, but I’m sure the atmosphere will be great and hopefully the tennis will inspire the local fans, in particular the younger generation. After some challenges this year, I look forward to competing against a very strong player field to see where my level is before the start of the new season”, Berrettini said ahead of his debut at Diriyah Tennis Cup.
On the other hand, Huber Hurkacz also will make his first appearance at the Middle East exhibition event this year.
“It’s a great opportunity to play tournaments like the Diriyah Tennis Cup because you can give your best against some of the best players worldwide. It helps you to see things in your game you should improve during your off-season and until January you have a bit of time to make adjustments”, the 25-year-old Pole expressed.
